WELCOME TO THE 2019 CORNELL THEME PARK DESIGN COMPETITION!
This year's competition will thrill students with four distinct challenges:
Teams will create a vision for an innovative attraction, crafting theme, technology, and strategy to create professional proposals.
Teams must be composed of 2 to 4 participants currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program to be eligible to compete. Teams may be made up of students from different colleges and universities. Participants may be required to provide evidence of enrollment if prompted by the Competition Board. Eligibility for the prize wallet assumes compliance with the prompt's instructions in accordance with the decisions of our Judging Panel.

Gordon Dorrett is the Executive Director at FORREC Ltd. Joining the firm in 1985, Gordon served as President for 20 years, helping build FORREC into a global entertainment design company with more than 130+ employees and projects in more than 20 countries.
David Ferguson is an Art Director at Jack Rouse Associates. His 38 years in the industry, along with his knowledge of and experience with art history, theatre and design, heavily influence his work. Prior to joining Jack Rouse Associates in 1999, David served as Director of Art and Show Design for Paramount Parks and as a freelance designer for Kings Productions.
Timothy Jacobi is a Prototyping Engineer at Antonio Zamperla S.p.A. He joined the company in 2012 after eight years working at S&S Worldwide, Inc., where he was the originator of several new concepts including the Pirates Plunge and the Free Fly.
Stefan Lawrence is a Creative Director at The Hettema Group. He has 15+ years of experiential storytelling experience, having created experiences for such clients as Walt Disney Imagineering, 20th Century Fox, Marvel, Lionsgate, Nickelodeon, Merlin, Hasbro, BBC, Aardman Animation, Nintendo, Red Bull, and many more.
Kelly Sall is a Product Manager at WhiteWater West Industries Ltd. Combining 15 years in the marine industry as a product design engineer and his lifelong obsession with theme parks, Kelly has been at WhiteWater West since 2014, managing the development of new products for the waterslide market and assuming product management responsibilities for a diverse portfolio of water rides.
